Purple Christmas Musical for a special friend...

Wayho – a Wild Orchids Crafts challenge and another perfect one for me to join in to, as I’ll be making Christmas cards until the middle of next month at least if I can maintain my interest & enthusiasm which is waning rapidly.  This one is called "Christmas Friendship".

So this card was a true joy to create – first time using the image & first time using a large bow and a double one at that, in this way.   The image is the LOTV “Musical Christmas”  which actually has become almost personal for me, as it reminds me a little of my 2 wonderful stepdaughters when they were so much younger & like most involved in any church/school etc, they were in a nativity play.    Christine in particular is hugely into music and I could just see her playing the flute no problem, while Caroline would be just as happy on the tambourine. :).   And shortly my 2 young granddaughters will be following in their footsteps.

But I digress – for the card I used the wonderful and everlasting IMHO Craft Creations purple scrapbook papers – they’ve a wonderful range of most colours and styles to suit every taste & need I feel, so I keep returning to them.  The image was coloured with Copics as usual and the wings glittered along with the snow, which isn’t perhaps the right setting for them, but I love snow, so for me, they’re outside :)).

Flowers as always from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The double bow was done with gold edged purple 20 mm ribbon and a snowflake charm (thanks to Bev) attached, and used a foiled sentiment for the stop as I’m so new to stamping I’ve not yet managed to obtain sentiment stamps of any quantity.  The Fleur De Lys corners are done with a MS punch using silver mirri paper.

And just for a change from using Tags on the inside, this time I made a nice little bordered sentiment block with Nestabilities Labels 4, & used a stamped greeting on it.  It’s hard to see the colour because it was getting dark when I took the pics & I couldn’t lighten it up much further, but the border is done in purple mirri paper and double embossed to produce a lovely frame which I just then stuck a Labels 4 white diecut to the back of (hopefully that makes sense).  If you’re interested in knowing how to do this, just let me know.
