Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge - June.

Sadly, my health continues to be in freefall, & making anything becomes more of a struggle feeling the way I am of late, but as the cards are my therapy too, I always push myself to get at least one made a week if not more, & this one came just at the right time on both counts.
It's another Wild Orchid Crafts challenge and by far my favourite type – “Anything Goes”.   So as I was just starting to create a card for my future sister-in-law’s friend’s wedding later in the year I figured it might be suitable for the purpose.

Similar to the 40th Anniversary card I made last year, this one is also a larger 8 x 8 square easel.  The request was basically for a “lilac & fairy” design so I used a topper off CraftsUPrint and teamed it with some beautiful lilac papers from my stash (no idea where they came from).  I matted the paper onto sheer purple mirri paper and used a gold edged purple ribbon across the top 1/3.  Under that I part stuck some beautiful Guipure lace bought in my local Craft shop in Belfast.

The topper was matted onto black mirri paper and then on gold holographic card before being adhered onto the lace using double sticky fixers to give it a bit of height.

Flowers are obviously all from WOC and include lilac & white roses of varying sizes along with some beautiful lilac cherry blossoms which set off the design beautifully.  I’ve added in some white Martha Stewart branches & white pearl strips.
Then the final embellishments on the front were the bow & gold heart charm, the gem circle & butterfly & the heart gem corners.
The base was kept more simple – I put the initials of the couple either side of the sentiment on top of the ribbon, & finished off with a beautiful pink/lilac/white gem strip.

Not shown are the usual label set on the inside for the greeting to go on.
