My awesome friend Cindy has once again come to the rescue in providing me with the scallop circles I've been hunting for in my probably hugely vain effort to have a go at making more challenging easel card designs. Also going to try and do some stamping into the bargain - my forte is very much more decoupage, but Cindy's long been at me to do more stamping as she feels it's much more versatile. I just figure I gave up painting because my hands were too painful & so just switching to colouring in stamped images isn't really much different in some ways - both involve holding thin items (paintbrush/pen etc) that I struggle badly with these days. Still I figure it's worth a go.
So this is one of the other easel cards I’ve made of late – using decoupage again this one was quite awkward & fiddly both in the cutting & also in the layering up as the flowers go through & behind the frame – plus the very fine stems were too difficult for me to cut out so just had to work with what I could. Doesn’t look too bad overall, but still lacking something yet. I just don’t have the huge range of items many other crafters can lay their hands on, & really can’t afford to go and buy lots of things like ribbon or flowers etc, just for one type of card. I tried everything I had available to add on to the base but nothing really appealed, so have left it fairly bland for the meantime. Somebody will appreciate it no doubt. Sorry for the poor photos but still trying to figure out my new digicam not to mention Photoshop - love to hear how the rest of you do things!Mamie Rae

All new designs
Yet another fresh venture for me, starting yet another blog - this one aimed at those who enjoy my cards. I've only just packed away my Christmas stock so now getting into General card designs and discovering a wealth of new ideas and concepts to try.
Thanks to my friend Cindy who encouraged me to try easel cards I've now formed yet another obsession - oh the joys! I'd long determined I wasn't going to look at this style of card as initially it hadn't appealed but having got utterly captivated by Bev Rochester's work, I'm sunk. I'd also determined I wasn't going to spend anything on my cards this year other than primary stock (card, glue etc) but already have fallen endlessly on trying to keep to that LOL!
So I'm toiling away trying to get both stock and ideas etc for some more easel cards, my first venture is a combination of both my main style which is decoupage & the new concept so hope you enjoy it.
This comes courtesy of Cardmaking Downloads - well, figured it was easier to start off using someone else's design initially, but don't worry, I've got my own designs in the mix & will be able to put them up shortly.
